Public research policy

Research Confidence and Safety evidence methodology

Broker profiles show Research Confidence, evidence labels, data coverage, verification states and evidence-scoped dates where recorded. Those fields describe the file FXVeritas holds; they do not rank brokers or say a broker is safe.

Public file principles

These rules apply to every FXVeritas public research page. They are not a ranking.

  • Research Confidence is not a safety rating.
  • Regulator verified does not mean a broker is safe.
  • Unknown does not mean unsafe. Unverified does not mean fraudulent. Unregulated does not automatically mean a scam.
  • Protection unknown does not mean no.
  • Commercial or affiliate relationships do not change research labels, verification status, Research Confidence, or editorial conclusions.
  • FXVeritas does not recommend a broker because data has been verified.

What Research Confidence is

Research Confidence is a measure of how much FXVeritas has collected and source-checked for that broker.

It answers: how complete is this file? It does not answer: is this broker safe?

High confidence is not a safe broker. Limited confidence is not an unsafe broker.

Research Confidence levels

The public values are High, Medium and Limited. They describe file completeness.

High
More of the regulation file is present and source-checked. High does not mean the broker is safe.
Medium
Some regulation or entity facts are on file, with gaps. Medium is not a mid-point between safe and unsafe.
Limited
The file is thin. Limited means FXVeritas has less confirmed evidence, not that the broker is unsafe.

Safety evidence labels

These labels match Broker Detail. They describe what is in the file. They are not a score and not a recommendation.

Verified regulation
At least one licence is Regulator verified. This is not a finding that the broker is safe.
Protection confirmed
An entity-level protection fact is confirmed in the file. Confirmed is not a promise that clients cannot lose money.
Investor compensation confirmed
An investor-compensation fact is confirmed for a legal entity. Scheme rules and limits still apply. This is not a finding that the broker is safe.
Regulatory action found
A regulatory event is stored as a fact. A stored event is evidence in the file, not an automatic statement that the broker is unsafe.
Licence not current
A stored licence status is not current. This is a file status, not a criminal finding.
Limited research
The catalog has not yet assembled a full regulation file. Limited research is not a finding that the broker is unsafe.
Identity under review
The legal-entity identity is not settled in the file. This is a research status, not a fraud finding.

Regulation evidence

Regulation evidence is stored by legal entity: regulator, licence number, licence status, and verification label.

A verified licence is a source check. It is not a licence issued by FXVeritas and not a statement that the broker is safe.

Protection evidence

Protection facts are stored by legal entity and jurisdiction: negative-balance protection, segregated client funds, and investor compensation where checked.

Unknown means the fact cannot currently be established from available evidence. Unknown does not mean no. Brand-level marketing claims are not stored as entity-level facts.

Data coverage

Data coverage is catalog completeness. It is independent of commercial relationships. It is not live surveillance.

Research in progress
The directory row exists. Regulation and protection files are still thin. This is not a finding that the broker is unsafe.
Basic profile
Some profile fields are on file. Basic is completeness, not a quality score.
Regulation monitored
Regulation fields are in the catalog. The label means those fields are populated, not that FXVeritas runs a live market feed on the broker.
Fully monitored
More of the catalog file is populated. Fully monitored is still catalog completeness, not a statement that the broker is safe.

Source verification

Verification status on a licence or protection row is a stored source-confirmation state: unverified, verified, or stale. A check attempt alone is not successful verification.

Verification does not change because a broker is an affiliate or a sponsor. Verification is not endorsement.

Evidence terminology

These definitions describe the FXVeritas file. They are not a regulator opinion and not a safety rating.

Verified
A stored licence or protection fact was confirmed against primary evidence. Verified is not a finding that a broker is safe.
Unverified
The file records a claim that has not been successfully source-confirmed. Unverified is not a finding of fraud or that the broker is unregulated.
Unknown
Available evidence does not currently establish the fact. Unknown is not negative evidence, and it is not the same as having no record in the FXVeritas file.
Explicit absence
A source explicitly states that a scheme, protection or feature does not exist or does not apply to the exact entity and scope. Missing information is not explicit absence.
Conflicting evidence
Recorded sources disagree about the same fact and scope. A conflict must remain visible until it is resolved by evidence; it is not confirmed YES or confirmed absence.
Routing and residency eligibility
Routing identifies an exact legal entity for a country context. Eligibility separately establishes whether residents may open or use an account. A route, licence, domicile or interface language cannot establish eligibility.
Compensation coverage and cap
Whether a compensation scheme applies and what amount it covers are separate facts. Confirmed coverage with an unknown cap remains confirmed coverage; an unrecorded limit does not mean no scheme.
Claim-specific checked date
A checked date belongs to the source or fact shown beside it. It does not mean every fact about the brand was checked then. A page render, rebuild or scheduled run without a recorded research update does not refresh the evidence.
Included in this view
The legal-entity relationship is in the public broker catalog. Catalog-excluded is not a finding that the broker is unregulated.
Research-file evidence
A fuller research record may hold more licences or entities than the public catalog. Counts on regulator pages use catalog-applicable rows unless labelled otherwise.
Primary regulator source
An official regulator register or notice URL stored against the record. A broker website is not treated as the regulator register.
Regulator
A public authority recorded against a legal entity. FXVeritas records the stored relationship. It does not operate the regulator and does not treat a recorded regulator as a safety rating.
Legal entity
The licensed company name on file. It is distinct from the broker brand shown to the public.
Licence identifier
The stored number or code for a licence. FXVeritas does not invent identifiers when a register does not expose them.
Broker brand
The public trading name. A brand is not itself a licence and is not treated as the licensed legal entity.
FRN
In FXVeritas files, an FCA identifier is the stored Financial Reference Number recorded against a legal entity.
AFSL
In FXVeritas files, an ASIC identifier is the stored Australian financial-services licence number recorded against a legal entity.
CIF
In FXVeritas files, a CySEC identifier is the stored Cyprus investment-firm number recorded against a legal entity.
FSP
In FXVeritas files, an FSCA identifier is the stored financial-services-provider number recorded against a legal entity.

Freshness and last checked

Profile facts checked uses the broker-level last-verified timestamp. Licence check attempts, verified times, protection checks and trading checks remain scoped to their own records.

A recent check does not mean the broker is safe. An old or missing check does not mean the broker is unsafe.

What this page does not describe

FXVeritas does not currently publish a numerical safety score on broker profiles.

Research Confidence and Safety evidence are the public file status. This page does not describe an unpublished scoring product.
